Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verde Super Cup in football, to be played between Palmeira, national champion, and Académica do Mindelo, winner of the Cape Verde Cup, will be played at the Orlando Rodrigues municipal stadium, in Tarrafal de São Nicolau.

The Cape Verde Super Cup is scheduled for November 25th and the decision to hold the match on the island of São Nicolau came from the last General Assembly of the Cape Verdean Football Federation (FCF).
According to the president of the FCF, Mário Semedo, the choice of São Nicolau to host the competition is due to its “geographical proximity” to the two islands, which allows fans to travel to watch the match.
Another reason for the choice, according to him, is a way of transmitting the message that “Cape Verde is all islands and sports regions”.
The Orlando Rodrigues municipal stadium, opened in 2011, with a capacity of 3,000 spectators, thus hosts another national sporting event, after having been the stage for the final of the Independence Cup in football (Inter-Islands), in 2019.
