According to Inforpress, the municipal budget was approved, Saturday, during the ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly of Porto Novo, with favorable votes from the MpD deputies (11), who support the municipal council, and votes against from the PAICV municipal elected representatives (five ) and the UCID (one).
The activity plan also received votes in favor from the MpD bench and abstentions from the opposition (PAICV and UCID).
The president of Porto Novo City Council, Aníbal Fonseca, highlighted that these instruments close the cycle of the mandate and respond to the challenges and the municipal governance program, containing the projects and actions that will be carried out in 2024.
For the mayor, the budget and activity plan aim to “continue the transformation process” of the municipality of Porto Novo.
In terms of investments planned for next year, the highlights are the second phase of requalification of Porto Novo’s seafront, the completion of projects to enhance rural tourist villages, the construction of the covered sports center and the construction of three sports boards, he says.
