PAICV proposes Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry on the privatization of TACV

Africa-Press – Cape verde. A Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) on the privatization of Cabo Verde Air Transport (TACV), as well as the liquidation of this airline’s operation on domestic flights should be voted on at the last plenary session in February.

The CPI, whose motion for a resolution was submitted by the parliamentary group of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV, opposition party), will be discussed by Members in the plenary session begins on February 23rd and ends on 25th.

The largest opposition party MPs justify that with this CPI it is intended to “check” what the vision and strategy the Ulisses Correia e Silva executive has for the transport sector and also to verify that studies or facts motivated the Government’s decision to move forward with the privatization of TACV and which relations were developed with Loftleidir, and the other businesses mentioned and the nature of these relationships.

According to the document to which Inforpress had access, PAICV parliamentarians also intend to investigate the “integrity of the business” with Binter/TICV, Incelandair, BestFly Angola and BestFly WW.
