Minister Fernando Elísio Freire will find out about the living conditions of the beneficiaries of that social benefit that aims to guarantee the protection of Cape Verdeans who live in extreme poverty in emigrant communities.
The value of the pension has risen from 20 to 40.82 euros per month since 2019, and payment is made quarterly by embassies or consular representations.
The official visit also aims to “share Cape Verde’s experience in the social protection sector, namely in the implementation of programs and measures aimed at the most vulnerable families, children, people with disabilities and the elderly”, the executive detailed in a statement. .
The elimination of extreme poverty in Cape Verde by 2026 is one of the Government’s goals.
The trip’s agenda also includes meetings with the President of São Tomé, Carlos Vila Nova, and the Prime Minister, Patrice Trovoada, both scheduled for today, in addition to other meetings with members of the Government and local authorities, until Friday.
