Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Marias Neves, considered this Tuesday that geopolitical wars between countries undermine the ideals proclaimed by the United Nations for the maintenance of world peace, and called for reflection on the current situation in the world.

The head of state, who was speaking to journalists at a meeting he held this afternoon with young people from different regions of Santiago Sul, at the Presidential Palace, in the City of Praia, recalled that one of the organization’s objectives is to guarantee tolerance, but that, in the meantime , this ideal has been exhausted due to wars.

For a small State like Cape Verde, he argued, which defends respect for sovereignty and international law, must, at this moment, resort to reflection and “define” the best way to position itself in the world.

“It is important to reflect with young people on the entire issue of peace multilateralism so that we can have lasting development for our country”, he said, calling, above all, for the improvement of the formulation of public policies and the strengthening of trust between political actors.

Denilson Monteiro, president of the Cape Verdean Federation of Community Associations, was, on the other hand, concerned about the loss of young labor due to the lack of jobs and opportunities in the country.

In this young man’s opinion, it is up to the President of the Republic to exercise his power of influence among national and international institutions, working with the Government in the development of public policies aimed at this age group.

For him, there is no peace, especially in the capital, with several people questioning the lack of security, pointing the finger, however, at youth, as one of those responsible for the problem. The Week with Inforpress
