Africa-Press – Cape verde. The resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), David Matern, participates on Thursday, on the island of Fogo, at the closing of the II edition of the São Filipe Coding Summer Boot Camp.
Fogo: Resident representative of the UNDP participates in the closing of the II edition of the São Filipe Coding Summer Boot Camp. “São Filipe Coding Summer Boot Camp” is a municipal project that aims to teach children, teenagers and young people in São Filipe the language of the future, and in the first edition held in the summer of 2022 it included more than four dozen children/young people and in the second edition, which closes on Wednesday, benefited 33 children, teenagers and young people who will receive their certificates.
This project is implemented thanks to several partners, one of the main ones being the UNDP, which financed the acquisition of most of the equipment that served as the basis for this program.
In addition to participating in the closing ceremony of the II Edition of the “São Filipe Coding Summer Boot Camp”, the UNDP resident representative has scheduled a meeting with the mayor of São Filipe. The opening of the 41st meeting of the GEF SGP National Steering Committee, meeting with the focal point of the “São Filipe Smart Tour” project and visit to the intervention sites of the Vitó Project Association, namely Cabeça Fundão, Chã das Caldeiras and Monte Velha make also part of the visit program.
The closing of the II edition of the “São Filipe Coding Summer Boot Camp” takes place at the Casa das Bandeiras facilities and coincides with the III edition of the “Gala de Excelência Escolar”, an event that aims to award prizes to the 41 best students each year school, of the four groups in the municipality of São Filipe.
