Africa-Press – Cape verde. This Friday the 10th, the Municipal Council of Santa Catarina do Fogo will consign the works for the construction of the square in the town of Fonte Aleixo-sul, which represents an investment in the order of 16 thousand contos.
The contract award for the construction of the square will be signed between the mayor, Alberto Nunes, and representatives of two local construction companies selected through a public tender.
One of the companies will be responsible for carrying out the works on the physical structure of the square, called lot one and the other for the equipment and beautification part called lot two, with the works expected to start during the next week.
The construction of this collective infrastructure is financed by the Government, through the Environment, Management, Recovery, Environmental Valorization and Reforestation Fund of the City, in the amount of 16 thousand contos, part of which has already been transferred to the city council which, in act of consignment, will advance financial resources to the companies to carry out the works.
With the construction of this infrastructure, the municipality will benefit from three modern squares, one in the city of Cova Figueira, already completed, and another in Estância Roque, under construction, plus the one in Fonte Aleixo, infrastructures that the municipality hopes to have “a strong impact” on the development of communities and the improvement of people’s living conditions.
The Fonte Aleixo square includes parking lots, fountain, barbershop, kiosk, multipurpose community hall, support and leisure area, fitness, children’s space, urban furniture, accessibility/ramp and Wi-Fi.
