Africa-Press – Cape verde. The installation of the municipal library, a project awaited for more than 30 years by the people of Porto Novo, will be completed in 2024, with the municipality having already identified a space for the operation of this cultural space.
Inforpress learned from the city council of Porto Novo that the basement of the shopping center, in the historic center of the city of Porto Novo, is being prepared to receive the municipal library, one of several cultural projects planned for next year in this municipality.
Another project long awaited by residents concerns the completion of the pilgrimage museum, whose work has been on hold since 2014, confirmed the municipality.
The cultural sector in the municipality of Porto Novo will receive an investment of around 32 thousand contos in 2024, with emphasis on the creation of the municipal music school, which will operate on the premises of the local youth center.
To implement this project, the municipality says it has a partnership with the Luxembourg non-governmental organization Smiley Kids.
The space of the cultural village will also deserve the attention of municipal officials, who have already committed to carrying out works to protect the village’s facilities, the operation of which has also been criticized by cultural agents.
