Africa-Press – Cape verde. Thai para-athlete Chaturong Suksuk — a silver medalist in swimming at the Southeast Asian Adapted Games and qualified for the world competition scheduled for the next few days — shot to death his fiancée, his mother-in-law and a sister-in-law. One guest died and another was injured by stray bullets.

Chaturong Suksuk, aged 29, carried out a massacre at 11:30 pm on Saturday in which five people, including himself, lost their lives. The tragic outcome of their wedding celebrations in the Wang Nam Khieo district, northeastern Thailand.

Local police told the BBC that the gunman “was quite drunk at the time”. However, the reasons that led him to open fire remain unexplained.

According to the guests revealed to the Thai press, the bride and groom argued during the party and Chaturong Suksuk seemed insecure about both his disability — his right leg was amputated during a military operation by the Thai army — and the age difference between him and his bride, Kanchana Pachunthuek, 44 years old.

Thai media highlights that the couple “had lived in the same house for three years”.
