Africa-Press – Cape verde. This Friday, Ribeira Brava City Council, São Nicolau, is holding the 11th edition of the Sports Gala under the motto “Building Champions” with the aim of rewarding outstanding sports agents in the municipality.
According to the Ribeira-Bravense mayor, José Martins, the initiative aims to recognize and value the work of athletes and sportspeople who have stood out in sport in this municipality.
It is also a way to encourage associations and teams to hold more competitions, especially among the youngest groups, as a way of also promoting the municipality’s young talents, he added.
The event, which will be held at the Maiamona sports hall, is part of the Ribeira Brava Municipality Day celebrations, marked on December 6th.
This year’s edition of the Sports Gala marks the return of the event, after a three-year hiatus.
