1st Sports Census: Start of data collection rescheduled for February 23

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The start of data collection for the 1st Sports Census in Cabo Verde, previously scheduled for Monday, was rescheduled for February 23, Wednesday, due to some constraints related to travel of supervisors to the islands.

The information was announced to Inforpress by the vice-president of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Fernando Rocha, who said that in the total will be on the ground 84 operators, including 68 inquirers and 16 supervisors who are technicians from INE and the Sport and Youth Institute (IDJ) and who are already properly trained.

“As you know, in a census there are rules to be respected and the rules indicate that data collection should begin nationwide on the same day. Therefore, it was decided that throughout the country the census should begin on February 23, Wednesday”, he said, adding that for this data collection operation the period will last one month.

The Sports Census, to be carried out by the INE, in partnership with the IDJ consists of the survey and registration of a set of data and statistical indicators on national sport, which allows the knowledge of the sports situation of the country, as well as the various factors of sports development.
