Santiago Norte: 14 active and retired National Police personnel decorated

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Fourteen members of the National Police (PN) of Santiago Norte, active and retired, were decorated this Thursday, 28th, by the corporation, in recognition of the work done.

The 14 members of the National Police, in the Santiago Norte region, were distinguished for their professional merit, exemplary behavior and attendance, in a ceremony that took place in the main hall of the Paços do Concelho de São Salvador do Mundo.

The regional commander, Estêvão Fonseca, representing the National Director of the National Police, explained that this is “a public recognition” of those who, in the exercise of their duties, have or have revealed qualities that deserve to be “pointed out as an example within the police force” .

“This decoration is recognition of everything they did for the prestige and good name of the National Police (PN)”

Representing those awarded, Commissioner Celestino Cunha, also commander of the Police Station of São Salvador do Mundo, highlighted that this moment is a celebration, as it is “the fruit of a lot of sacrifice, a lot of sweat, a lot of work, a lot of lost sleep, many families far away ”, reinforcing that this act will give more encouragement to those still on the ground to continue with this task and embrace this mission with a certain determination and professionalism.

“It is not the end, but rather the beginning of another stage”, he said, pledging to “continue in the line of dedication, spirit of dedication and sacrifice”.

For his part, the president of the Municipal Council of São Salvador do Mundo, Ângelo Vaz, was pleased to have been the host municipality for this event, but also took the opportunity to congratulate the National Police agents for the work they have carried out in the country.

Likewise, he highlighted that this is one of the oldest institutions and that it plays a “very important” role in society, justifying that for a country that wants to be developed, it cannot neglect security as well as justice itself.

Regarding the act of recognition of the 14 employees, he says he hopes it will serve as an incentive for those who are still active to continue giving their best for the good of the community and for those who are already in retirement to enjoy this honor.
