Africa-Press – Cape verde. The 13th edition of the Kriol Jazz Festival which takes place on the 4th, 5th and 6th of April, in Praia, brings names such as Salif Keita (Mali), Santrofi (Ghana), Tibau Tavares (Cape Verde), Hermeto Pascoal (Brazil) and Steve Colemen (United States of America).
The event poster was released this Tuesday, 23rd, by the production company Harmonia and Câmara Municipal da Praia, at a press conference.
The organizers promise to bring lots of music as always for the three days of the event. “Renowned artists from various parts of the world will join our artists for the most varied sound colors of a final stage, ours that is yours”.
“During the first week of April, the 4th, 5th and 6th will be the usual Musical Beach, where our musicality merges with each street in the city, thus celebrating musical meetings, experiences and the musical creolization inherent to our Kriol Jazz Festival 2024”, assures the organization.
The opening of the Kriol Jazz Festival will be on April 4th, at Praça Luís de Camões with performances by Jorge Pardo and Armando Orbon (Spain) and Soren Araújo Trio (Cape Verde).
On the 5th, the first paid day, the Kriol Jazz stage will welcome Mayan singer and composer Tabau Tavares and Munganga Band (Cape Verde/Austria), followed by Salif Keita (Mali), Steve Colemen (United States of America) and Afro Cuban Jazz Project (Cuba).
On the 6th, the second and last paid day, the Kriol Jazz Festival kicks off to the sound of Pret and Bronk feat Jennifer Solidade. The night will be highlighted by performances by Hermeto Pascoal (Brazil), Kriolatino (Cuba/Cape Verde) and Santrofi (Ghana).
