Africa-Press – Cape verde. In the month of January 2024, the Consumer Price Index (IPC) registered a monthly variation rate of -0.6%, decreasing by 0.7 pp compared to the previous month, as revealed today by INE.
According to data from the National Institute of Statistics, the accumulated rate of change in the IPC was -0.6%, a rate 1.2 pp lower than that observed in the same month of the previous year.
The year-on-year rate of change of the total IPC, in the month of January 2024, was 0.0%, decelerating 1.3 pp compared to the previous month.
In the period under analysis, the IPC registered an average variation of the last twelve months was 3.1%, a value 0.6 pp lower than that recorded in the previous month.
The underlying inflation indicator (total index excluding energy and unprocessed food) showed a year-on-year variation of -0.1%, 1.6 pp lower than that recorded in December 2023.
