Africa-Press – Cape verde. The services sector grew in terms of business, employment and wages during 2023, in Cape Verde, according to data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE), based on a sample of 323 companies.
The turnover index grew 9%, employment rates grew between 4% and 5% and the gross remuneration index rose 6%, reveals Lusa.
In the bulletin, INE pointed out that, in 2023, “the transport and storage sections, as well as accommodation and restaurants presented the most relevant contributions to the variation in the turnover index”.
Accommodation and catering companies also stood out in terms of rising wages and employment, only surpassed in terms of jobs by the area of information and communication activities.
According to the same source, the INE bulletin excludes financial services and insurance activities, as well as real estate activities.
