Africa-Press – Cape verde. On Thursday, 4th, the Fogo Solidário Association (Afosol) will officially deliver a set of materials and equipment to the Fishing Store in the municipality of Mosteiros.

Afosol mobilized 15 thousand euros, more than 1,600 Cape Verdean contos, with its partners, namely the German Embassy, ​​to implement this project in the fishing sector in the municipality of Mosteiros, which also had the participation of the city council, aiming to the installation of a store selling fishing materials.

The list of materials to be delivered on Thursday, according to the president of the Afosol board of directors, Eugénio Veiga, includes hooks, monofilaments, life jackets, diving equipment, rifles, fishing rods, thermal bags, bait artificial and an engine.

In addition to the equipment, the project also included training activities related to good fishing practices and fishing competitions that were held previously.

The store selling fishing materials will benefit all maritime agents and will make materials and equipment available under similar conditions to other stores in the country’s capital, according to the head of Afosol.

Regarding the microproject to raise chickens and pigs in one of the communities in the parish of São Lourenço, municipality of São Filipe, an Afosol initiative, Eugénio Veiga said that the process is advanced and that it will be completed within three months.

Regarding the project to excavate the Zona Alta dos Mosteiros that this NGO is mobilizing resources for, the Afosol manager said that the initial schedule was postponed due to the illness of one of the strategic partners, but the project is still ongoing and a mission preliminary could take place later this year.

The activities planned for this year include the arrival of a medical mission linked to the area of ​​Ophthalmology.

For the municipality of Mosteiros, Afosol, in collaboration with the local council, intends to mobilize resources for the construction of access in the town of Relva, south of the municipality, namely from Achada Grande Baixo to Relva via Lava Rosto.

The Mosteiros council must provide cutting machines and the emigrant community in the United States of America will finance the preparation of the land, works of art and paving.

Veiga highlighted that this route has several advantages, namely the issue of safety by avoiding the excessive steepness of current routes, freeing up localities and agricultural promotion.
