Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Local Council of the Red Cross of Praia marks June 1st – World Children’s Day – with the delivery of a set of materials such as books, toys, clothes and school materials, collected as part of the “Juntos Por Sorrisos” charity campaign.
According to the institution’s statement, the donations will be delivered to the Basic Schools and Kindergarten in the city of Praia, in celebration of World Children’s Day, marked this Saturday, with distribution starting today (31), at the Escola do Ensino Básico de Ponta d ‘Water, where around 1,300 students, aged 6 to 14, will be honored.
The distribution in the Ponta d ́água area will be attended by Susana Gramilho, Honorary Consul of Cape Verde in Madeira, at 1:00 pm.
The Cape Verde Red Cross was chosen as the recipient of the goods, taking charge of the entire process of contacting some schools in Praia and identifying the most needy families, for their distribution.
On June 1st, the beneficiaries will be the children of the Júlia da Costa Basic Education School, in Achada de São Filipe, housing around 1,150 students.
The campaign will also benefit the 73 children at the Red Cross Children’s Garden, in Praia.
In addition to the distribution of donations, as reported by the same source, recreational and recreational activities and a snack for the “little ones” are planned, organized by the respective Basic Education Schools.
The solidarity action “Juntos Por Sorrisos”, was launched by the Honorary Consul of Cape Verde in the autonomous region of Madeira, Susana Gramilho, in partnership with the Association for the promotion of Macaronésia of Madeira.
