Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Municipal Council of Praia and the Metropolitan Assembly of Kumasi, in Ghana, signed this Wednesday (26) a protocol that aims to create a strategic partnership that directly benefits citizens, local administrations and the local economies of both municipalities.

Through the note that Asemanaonline had access to, the authority explains that the aforementioned protocol establishes a mutual commitment to work together, sharing knowledge, resources and experiences to achieve common objectives and generate positive impacts in crucial areas.

“This Protocol is an important milestone that establishes a robust and lasting cooperation framework between the two cities”, he comments.

The same source highlights the promotion of professional mobility, which will allow professionals from Praia and Kumasi to acquire new skills, experiences and employment opportunities, contributing to increasing the quality of the workforce in both cities, as the main points of this agreement.

The document also adds that the focus on economic development will encourage sustainable growth, innovation and investment in strategic sectors, strengthening local economies and improving the quality of life of populations.

This protocol falls within the scope of the HORESD Project, financed by Europe Aid, whose initiative brings together three local administrations; the Mancomunitat de la Ribera Alta, in Spain, as coordinating partner, the Metropolitan Assembly of Kumasi, in Ghana, as beneficiary; and Praia City Council, in Cape Verde, as a third collaborative partner and reference for good practices.

The protocol includes the identification and allocation of various sources of financing, the creation of joint programs and the implementation of concrete initiatives to achieve the outlined objectives.

Francisco Carvalho, president of Praia City Council, declared that he was enthusiastic about the signed agreement. “We are very excited about this partnership. We believe that collaborating with Kumasi will bring significant benefits to our citizens and our local economy. Together, we can achieve great things.”

For Samuel Pyne, president of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, “this Agreement symbolizes a strong and resolute commitment to the future of our communities. By sharing resources and knowledge, we are paving the way for sustainable and innovative growth.”
