Parliament approves Motion to accession to the Convention on civil aspects of international child abduction

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Parliament on Thursday unanimously and globally approved the Motion for a Resolution approving the accession to Convention on civil aspects of international child abduction, signed on October 25, 1980.

According to the Minister of Justice, Joana Rosa, the Conventions on the protection of children adopted by the Hague conference aim to protect children across national borders.

Cabo Verde, she pointed out, is a country traditionally open to the world with ease in the movement and mobility of people with registration of transnational families, naturally facing risks to the situation of children.

“Many children and adolescents in Cabo Verde are exposed to various situations of vulnerability, personal and social risk allied in many cases to poor parental accountability, which forces the country to adopt protective measures to ensure the best interests of children in order to allow their development harmoniously,” she said.
