10th Edition of the UCCLA-CMLisboa Literary Revelation Award: Registration extended until December 8, 2024

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Registration for the 10th edition of the UCCLA-CMLisboa Literary Revelation Award – New Talents, New Works in the Portuguese Language has been extended until December 8th of this year. Informs UCCLA, in a note sent.

According to the same note, the UCCLA-CMLisboa Literary Revelation Award aims to stimulate the production of literary works, in the fields of prose fiction (novel, novel, short story and chronicle) and poetry, in Portuguese, by writers who have never have published a literary work and are looking for an opportunity for visibility and recognition in the literary scene.

For this award, applications are accepted from competitors who are natural persons, of any nationality, fluent in the Portuguese language, aged no less than 16 years.

The same source explains that in the case of minors under 18 years of age, the award will be subject to the delivery of a declaration of acceptance by the respective holders of family power.

Participation in this initiative must be done by midnight on 12/08/2024, by email, to the address [email protected] under the terms set out in the Regulations.

This award was created in 2015, together with the Movement (2014) 800 Years of the Portuguese Language. In 2020, two partnerships were established: one with the publisher Guerra e Paz, which will be responsible for publishing the award-winning work, and another with the Lisbon City Council, within the scope of the Lisbon Literary Festival – 5L.

The jury for this award is made up of personalities from the literary world and Portuguese-speaking culture: Domício Proença (Brazil), Germano Almeida (Cape Verde), Hélder Simbad (Angola), Inocência Mata (São Tomé and Príncipe), José Pires Laranjeira (Portugal), Luís Carlos Patraquim (Mozambique), Luís Costa (Timor-Leste), Tony Tcheka (Guinea-Bissau), Yao Jing Ming (Macau), João Pinto de Sousa (Representative of the 800 Years of Portuguese Language Movement) and Rui Lourido (UCCLA Representative).
