Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Angolan First Lady Ana Dias Lourenço visited the Trás-os-Montes Pottery Cooperative in Tarrafal de Santiago on Monday and said it is proof that cooperatives increase women’s self-esteem and income.
The wife of the Angolan President, João Lourenço, who is visiting Cabo Verde, said to the press at the end of the visit to this region at the municipality of Tarrafal, where she called on the female communities to organize in cooperatives.
According to the Angolan visitor, it is in the cooperatives the women will have the opportunity to develop their skills and do things that can increase their self-esteem and their income, making them empowered.
“We can see that it is possible to do simple things, therefore, without much cost of beginning, and with goodwill, dedication and love for the things are done is possible … It is possible to increase their self-esteem and help them also increase their income”, she said.
