Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Amílcar Cabral Foundation wants the Government to take over The Writings of Amílcar Cabral entire candidacy process to the UNESCO programme “Memories of the World” as an element of political, cultural and intellectual valorization.
The intention was expressed by the president of the Amílcar Cabral Foundation, Pedro Pires, after meeting with the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abraão Vicente, where he assured that there is a national interest around this candidacy.
It is, according to Commander Pedro Pires, one of the “most important” matter of the Foundation that will allow the country to gain an element of political, cultural and intellectual valorization, because the writings of Amílcar Cabral are studied in hundreds of universities in the world.
“Indeed, to seize the symbol of Amílcar Cabral as a means of cultural and intellectual promotion is very important considering the person who he is, the knowledge about him abroad and the personality he is,” said the former President who considered it to be something that should be valued for the promotion of the archipelago.
