Parliament: Debate with Prime Minister Marks Second Session of April

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The second ordinary session of the National Assembly will take place from the 22nd to the 25th of this month, with the highlight being the debate with the Prime Minister, on the theme “Education strategies and policies for the sustainable development of Cape Verde”.

According to a press release from the National Assembly, the four days of parliamentary work aim to debate the electoral code in its entirety, monitor the Government’s actions and approve legislative instruments.

According to the same source, on the first day, the debate will be with the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, with the theme “Education strategies and policies for the sustainable development of Cape Verde”.

The approval of bills that make the fifth amendment to the electoral code, approved by Law No. 92/V/99 of 8 February, will then be debated in detail.

The discussion on the specifics of the proposed law that enshrines the general principles of the administration of justice and regulates the organization, composition, competence and functioning of the judicial courts and the tax and customs courts, also marks the agenda of the deputies’ work these days.

The agenda also includes the approval of draft resolutions that introduce the eighth amendment to resolution no. 5/X/2021, of July 22, which sets the number of specialized committees and designates their members.

Draft Resolution that makes the eighth amendment to Resolution no. 35/V/97, of August 25, which approves the statute of deputies, will also be discussed in parliament.
