Africa-Press – Cape verde. A 28-year-old man, of Cape Verdean nationality, was arrested by the Boa Vista Judicial Police (PJ), on suspicion of committing a crime of simple homicide, and was ordered to be held in preventive detention.
According to a statement issued today by the PC, last Tuesday, 24th, the Regional Command of the National Police of Boa Vista informed the local Criminal Investigations Department that an individual had been found dead inside a residence located in the Boa Esperança neighborhood.
Following the complaint, inspectors went to the location and found the body of a man on the 1st floor of the house.
The victim, a 40-year-old Nigerian citizen, showed clear signs of violent death, resulting from the intervention of third parties using a sharp weapon.
Based on the investigations carried out and the elements collected at the scene, the Civil Police requested the Public Prosecutor’s Office to issue an arrest warrant outside of flagrante delicto, having subsequently identified and located the suspect.
The man was arrested and, after the first judicial interrogation at the Boa Vista District Court, the preventive detention measure was applied. The accused must await the next steps in the process at the Sal Regional Penitentiary.
