IPC Promotes Training in Cultural Heritage Management

Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cultural Heritage Institute (IPC) is offering a training course on Cultural Heritage Management in the context of climate change and risks this Monday, September 1st, in Praia. The training will run until September 5th at the Cultural Heritage Institute.

The training, in partnership with the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID), aims to train professionals in the cultural heritage sector in the assessment, management, and mitigation of climate and environmental risks, promoting resilience strategies and the preservation of cultural assets.

According to a statement from the IPC, the course will cover internationally recognized methodologies, including vulnerability analysis, prevention plans, and integrated risk management, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

“This training is part of the ACERCA Program, Training for Development in the Cultural Sector, following the Accessibility in Museums and Underwater Archaeology courses, held between August 25th and 29th, and preceding the Collection Inventory and Digitization course, scheduled for October,” he explains.

The IPC notes that the ACERCA Program courses offer an integrated training path, articulating management, preservation, and innovation strategies in the area of ​​cultural heritage.
