The Government of Cape Verde announced today that it is building approximately 1,400 homes across the country’s islands, a commitment that reinforces the right to adequate housing for all Cape Verdean families.
As part of this housing policy, the Minister of Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, and Housing, Victor Coutinho, conducted a site visit today to the construction sites in Achada Limpo and Zona K, to monitor the progress of the 450 new social housing units under construction in the capital municipality.
Victor Coutinho’s visit is part of the activities marking World Habitat Day, celebrated annually on the first Monday of October, this year on October 6th.
“With these initiatives, the Government reaffirms that housing is one of its strategic priorities, with a direct impact on the quality of life of families, social cohesion, and the balanced development of the country,” the Government emphasizes.
