Africa-Press – Cape verde. Musician Kim Alves celebrates 50 years of his career on November 1st with the release of the album “Dança das Ilhas II,” which celebrates the traditional rhythms of Cape Verde, Inforpress learned this Saturday.
To commemorate this, Kim Alves has prepared a concert to launch the album, “Dança das Ilhas II,” which follows on from the first volume released almost two decades ago and promises a sonic journey through Cape Verdean rhythms, many of which have been forgotten today.
“Dança das Ilhas II is like a musical library of Cape Verdean rhythms,” said the artist, highlighting that the project brings together traditional styles that have shaped the country’s cultural identity.
The concert will feature dance performances and various costumes, providing a complete spectacle for the audience.
The launch concert for “Dança das Ilhas II” will take place next Saturday, November 1st, at the National Auditorium in Praia, starting at 9:00 PM, “bringing together fans and admirers for a special night of music, dance, and celebration.”
“The first album was very well received, and I believe this one will also bring much joy and newness,” said the musician, recognized for his “humility and simplicity.”
