Africa-Press – Cape verde. The 2025 edition of the Santo Antão Triangle Trail begins today in Porto Novo, with athletes from Cape Verde, Germany, Spain, the United States of America, France, Portugal, and Poland.
The event organizers, which conclude on Sunday, the 7th, in Ribeira Grande, assure that, as in 2024, diversity prevailed, with the participation of athletes from various countries, in a “historic edition” of what is considered the flagship event of the Cape Verde Trail Series.
The same source also guarantees that the Santo Antão Triangle Trail, whose motto is “Three days, three challenges and a unique experience,” will transform the island this weekend into a “global meeting point for trail running enthusiasts for a true international celebration of sport.”
The organization of this sporting and tourism event is the responsibility of the company “In Totum” and the Institute of Sport and Youth, in partnership with the municipal councils of the island of Santo Antão.
This race is seen by municipal authorities and tourism operators as an opportunity to position this island as “a destination of excellence” for nature tourism. The organization also aims to position the Santo Antão Triangle Trail as one of the international trail running circuits.
This year’s Cabo Verde Trail Series included stages in the Boa Vista Sand Trail (June 20 and 21), São Vicente Trail (July 26 and 27), Trail de Santiago (September 27 and 28), Fogo Vulcan Trail (October 24, 25 and 26), and Santo Antão Triangle Trail (December 5, 6 and 7).
