Princezito Hosts Second Spiritual Concert for Colmeia

Africa-Press – Cape verde. Singer and songwriter Carlos Alberto Mendes, artistically known as Princezito, is organizing the second edition of the “Spiritual” concert on Tuesday, December 23rd, at the Jorge Barbosa Auditorium, aiming to raise funds to support the Colmeia Association.

The concert, scheduled for 9:00 PM, will feature performances by artists Sandra Horta, Kady, and AryMar, the organizer announced today in Praia, at a press conference.

This event, which takes place every year in December “to celebrate life and remember those who are no longer in this world,” according to Princezito, aims to raise funds with a portion of the concert tickets to support the Association of Parents and Friends of Children and Young People with Special Needs, Colmeia Association.

“This show is not a show, but a spiritual experience, especially at this moment when the world is facing turbulent situations,” he explained, emphasizing that music provokes changes in the physical, emotional, and intellectual dimensions of people.

He also considered that music is “an effective form of therapy,” if well-selected and directed, in a language that is universally accessible.

In addition to this income, he said that the artist Hélder Cardoso has already donated a painting to the association, allowing the proceeds from the sale of the artwork at this concert to be entirely dedicated to the work developed by Colmeia.

The singer and composer Princezito also appealed to all Cape Verdean artists, both national and in the diaspora, to join this cause, promoting events of this kind to help those most in need.

“When we help these children, we are also helping their parents, family, friends, and neighbors,” he emphasized, highlighting that this festive season that is now beginning is an opportune moment for everyone to exercise their human side, build harmony, and sow new seeds of hope and prosperity.

In turn, the president of Colmeia, Isabel Moniz, praised the initiative, considering it “very symbolic” and highlighted its direct impact on the sustainability of specialized treatments for children with special needs.
