Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Government renewed, in a resolution of the Council of Ministers, of 7 April, the alert situation for another three months, despite the favorable and quite satisfactory evolution of the epidemiological situation in the different municipalities of the country.

After thirty days, according to the Government, the substantive reasons that had led to the declaration of an alert situation throughout the national territory still prevail, which is why the extension of this framework is justified, in order to guarantee the maintenance of preventive measures. and containment, which are still imposed in the present conjuncture.

This is based on the need to continue to act in the promotion of public health and the minimization of the risks of transmission of the infection. “In light of the analysis carried out by the National Directorate of Health, for a very satisfactory favorable evolution of the epidemiological situation in the different municipalities (…) the alert situation is renewed throughout the country, based on the evolution of the epidemiological situation”, informed the same. source.

Thus, the use of a mask in closed spaces serving the public remains mandatory, with the exception of nightclubs, places for which access continues to be required to present a valid vaccination certificate or negative screening test, in the same way that they will also be required. for cultural, artistic or recreational activities.

For national and international travel, according to this same resolution, the relative rules and requirement to present a complete vaccination certificate against covid-19 or a negative screening test to Cape Verde, with the exception of children up to 12 years old.

The resolution, which lasts for three months, also provides that the holding of artistic events such as festivals, pilgrimage parties and the like are subject to prior authorization by the health authorities.
