Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Minister of Culture, Abraão Vicente, signed an agreement worth 1.2 million escudos with the Cabo Verdean Image Agency to broadcast the “Mindelo Convida” program, in the city of Mindelo, to promote Cabo Verdean music.
The document, which was also signed by the National Film Center coordinator, Adilson Gomes, and the Cabo Verdean Image Agency managing partner, José Maurício, provides for the recording of eight episodies in the Space Floating Hub to disseminate new sounds of Cabo Verdean music and explore the fusion between traditional and modern rhythms, in a model of “concert coffee”.
Each episode will have a musician who will interpret his repertoire with a resident band, composed of experienced instrumentalists, some residents in Praia, others in Mindelo. The program will be broadcasted on RTP Africa.
According to the Minister of Culture, Abraão Vicente, “the availability of this money to the Mindelo Convida program is the realization of the Cinema Law in Cabo Verde” and also relates to the need to promote Mindelo as a hub and disseminate it to the rest of the world and also promote “the biggest brand that is Cabo Verde”.
