Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Farmers Livestock Cooperative of Planalto Norte, Porto Novo, Santo Antão, hopes “soon” to get the seal of origin in the cheese produced on this Planalto, which is among “the best in the world”.
The president of this Cooperative, Adilson Vitória, told Inforpress that conditions are being created so that cheese produced in the Northe Planalto will get the seal of origin for the genuine products from Santo Antão, awarded under the Local Networks for Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism (Raizes).
This responsible also confirmed that the certification process of the Northe Planalto cheese is underway, which could be completed by next May.
As part of this process, which is taking place at the Institute for Quality and Intellectual Property Management (IGQPI), producers have already been trained.
