Africa-Press – Cape verde. The President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, visits, on Monday and Tuesday, 25 and 26 April, some universities in Praia and in Assomada, on the island of Santiago, in addition to receiving, in audience, a representation of the ONLY. They are auscultation contacts.
According to a note from the presidency of the Republic, this Monday, 25th, José Maria Neves visits some universities based in the city of Praia, namely Uni-CV and the Instituto Superior de Ciências Jurídicas e Sociais, and receives, in audience, a representation of the Intercontinental University of Cape Verde (UNICA).
On Tuesday, the head of state travels to the campus of the University of Santiago, in Assomada. The aim, according to the aforementioned note, is to promote, together with the various institutions and other representations of society, in the most diverse areas, a Judiciary of Influence, based on dialogue and consultation.
It is expected that by next May the Head of State will complete the visits to the other universities and higher education institutions based on the island of Santiago, in line with the contacts already made with similar ones in São Vicente.
“These visits aim, more than listening and learning about the challenges of higher education in Cape Verde, to sensitize public, private and civil society actors to the importance of developing the Cape Verdean scientific and technological fabric”, explained the same source.
