Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cabo Verdean Vera Nereu wants, through education, to show Cabo Verdeans living in Portugal, and not only that it is possible to have quality of life, using the ‘coaching’ method for personal development.
Speaking to Inforpress in Lisbon, Vera Nereu, who has a degree in sociology, she is from Sal Island, having worked for 20 years in the human resources area at ASA, in October 2021 left everything in Cabo Verde to start over in Portugal, mainly because of the condition of her daughter, who has to make regular consultations in this European country.
With a postgraduate degree in Management in the aerospace sciences field, she also took a coaching course and created a company in 2017 to work with strategic planning of human resources and personal development, something she wants to continue to do in Portugal, but admits that, despite being aware, “people do not want to invest in this area of their life”.
“The Cabo Verdeans need it, because I really see many Cabo Verdeans in emigration get a lot of things, but they often have integration problems and often fail to take advantage of the benefits the host countries offer,” she said.
