
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The national football team is looking for the first points in qualifying for CAN 2023, playing today, at 4:30PM, at the Marrakech Stadium (Morocco), against the counterpart of Togo, in a match of the second round of Group B.
Cabo Verde will enter the field as host due to CAF’s restrictions on the National stadiums in Praia and “Adérito Sena” in São Vicente. For this game, coach Bubista has all the squad, including midfielder Yannick Semedo, called up due to the absences of João Correia and Kevin de Pina.
This match will be led by a three-member of Tunisian referees, commanded by Mehrez Melki.
Yamen Malloulchi and Wael Hannachi were appointed by CAF to the role of first and second assistants, respectively, while Moroccan Jamal Kaaouachi was entrusted to the role of game commissioner.
The final phase of the 2023 CAN edition will be held in Côte d’Ivoire and should have the participation of 24 African national team. Cabo Verde will attempt its fourth participation in a CAN finals, after attendance in 2013 in South Africa, 2015 in Equatorial Guinea and 2021 in Cameroon.
