
Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Deputy Director-General of International Partnerships of the European Union, Myrian Ferran, highlighted this Tuesday, in the city of Praia, the “very positive” way Cabo Verde has implemented policies of social promotion and fight against poverty.
This responsible made this assessment in statements to the press, on the sidelines of a visit she made this morning to the social protection services of the City Hall of Praia.
“I am here as a representative of the European Commission to express support for the way the Government has implemented its policies in the fight against social exclusion and in the eradication of extreme poverty. For us this is a fundamental objective of the SDS [Sustainable Development Goals] which the European Union supports financially,” she said.
According to that Deputy Director-General, the visit was also aimed at keeping in touch with the beneficiaries of EU projects and what impacts they had on the lives of families. He underlined the “very positive” way Cabo Verde has implemented policies to promote social and combat social exclusion, informed that a Convention will soon be signed that will allow the European Union to continue to assist the archipelago in the implementation of social policies.
