Africa-Press – Cape verde. Electra’s executive director, Antão Cruz, considered the SCADA project an “innovative system” that will change the control, transportation and production of electricity in Cabo Verde.
Antão Cruz, who spoke to Inforpress about the new system under implementation in the company, stressed that the project consists of three aspects, namely economic dispatch, the conduct of generator sets and the monitoring of average downtimes.
“The advantage is groups working at lower costs and the control of the identified network in Santiago, where we have to be constantly and in real time watching to know what power is being passed and if there is a defect in the network,” he explained, stressing that once an anomaly is detected the operator can immediately relegate the affected network, partly or in full.
“The Government is engaged with entities that support us in this area, so that we can reduce the times and frequency of interruptions,” he said, stating that the permanent monitoring of energy carried out by the center will allow for greater integration of renewable energies.
