Africa-Press – Cape verde. The MpD considered today that the measures announced by the Government in the face of rising prices of energy products were the “possible”, and all Cabo Verdeans should make a “sacrifice” taking into account the economic situation of the country.
The finding was made by the Secretary General of the Movement for Democracy (MpD-ruling party), Filomena Delgado, during a press conference to comment on measures to mitigate the prices of energy products.
“You can’t automatically announce measures for the entire war period because you don’t know when it’s going to end, and on the other hand, the Government will have to consider several factors and these measures come at a cost,” she said, who stated that this financial burden will cost the State about five billion escudos.
In her view, all consumers will have to make a sacrifice and the Government cannot and do not be financially able to bear the full financial burden, but will continue to monitor the situation and where necessary will take further action.
