Africa-Press – Cape verde. The first boat to arrive at the Mindelo Marina and winner of the first stage of the Globe 40 world regatta was received on Sunday afternoon by the Minister of the Sea and the organization, at the high seas.
The sailboat, named Milai 101, manned by two Japanese who apparently liked the reception in the middle of the São Vicente/ Santo Antão Channel, which occurred around 2:30PM and was also accompanied by Inforpress.
In addition to the Minister of the Sea team, Abraão Vicente, the arrival of the ship was also witnessed by the chairman of the board of Directors of Enapor, the organization of the Globe 40, the Maritime Police, the Coast Guard, the media and other members of the Ministry.
Abraão Vicente, who spoke to the press on arrival at Mindelo Marina at around 3:00PM, said it was a “symbolic way” to welcome a project that also belongs to Cabo Verde, which is the race’s co-producer and co-financier.
