A group of friends and former residents of the Alto São Nicolau neighborhood, in Mindelo, organize this Wednesday, 10th, a charity event, with the aim of raising funds to support the Occupational Therapy Center, Canalona Social Center and the community. from the Iraqi neighborhood. The 12-hour event has the motto “The soul of São Vicente is its people”.
In a statement reached this newsroom, the organization explains that the event, entitled “12 hours of Alto São Nicolau”, aims to revive memories, present the talents of the inhabitants of the neighborhood and provide entertainment to all age groups.
On the other hand, it wants to foster an environmental awareness in the participants.
Support for important social centers
Participation involves a cost of 200 escudos for adults and 100 escudos for children, the money raised will be used to support the Occupational Therapy Center (CTO), the Canelona Social Center and the Iraqi community.
“Depending on the success and income generated by the event, the funds will be directed to one or more of these institutions, with the possibility of the event being replicated to support other institutions and causes being open”, they indicate.
The activities start at 12:00 and go until 00:00, with live music, bazaar, crafts, painting, makeup, yoga, dance, among others.
