Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Cape Verdean international marathon runner, Rúben Sança, this Sunday reached the Guinness world record in baby stroller races, by covering a mile in 4:32 minutes, on the Newburyport High Street Mile.

Sança said that he entered this competition when he discovered that Guinness had scheduled a race in which the world record in the one mile race was at stake, near his residence, so he decided to venture out.

He explained that during the pandemic he acquired the habit of training with his son, in the wheelbarrow, in training sessions that even reached 20 kilometers.

A Cape Verdean scholarship from the Olympic Solidarity for the Paris Olympic Games, Ruben Sança, an athlete from the island of Sal, was satisfied with the results achieved, but said that he remains focused on his qualification for the next Olympics and that he will even fight for a spot in a test in the states of Connecticut, scheduled for October 8th.

Cape Verde’s record holder in the marathon with a time of 2h18 hours, Ruben Sança stressed that he is committed to lowering this mark to return to the Olympic Games.
