Africa-Press – Cape verde. Firmina Melício was appointed new regional commander of the National Police in São Vicente, replacing João Santos.

The appointment is contained in an order from the Minister of Internal Administration, Paulo Rocha, published in the Official Gazette.

According to the same document, quoted by Inforpress, the deputy commander of the National Police, who used to be deputy commander in São Vicente, will now exercise, on a replacement basis, the position of commander of the National Police.

Profile

Firmina Melício belongs to the generation of the first incorporation of women who entered the ranks of the then Public Order Police. She attended the agent training course in 1989 and in April 1990 she was appointed agent 2nd class in the Security and Public Order Forces.

Firmina Melício also attended the Deputy Chief Promotion courses, in Cape Verde, and Police Chief Training abroad, in 1999 at the Escola Superior da Polícia, located in Alcântara, Lisbon, Portugal.

She also has a degree in Sociology, having already performed several functions within the corporation.

He was commander of the Boa Vista Police Station, commander of the Traffic Police Station in Mindelo, in the São Vicente Regional Command and deputy commander of the PN in São Vicente, among others.
