Africa-Press – Cape verde. Classes in Cape Verde begin on September 19, across the country, as per the Ministry of Education’s dispatch in the Official Gazette (BO). The school year starts on September 1st and ends on July 31st, 2023.
The first quarter runs from the 19th of September to the 22nd of December, then pauses for the nine-day Christmas break.
The second quarter starts on the 5th of January 2023 and goes until the 24th of March, with a three-day interruption for Carnival from the 20th to the 22nd of February 2023.
Also in the second quarter there is an interruption from 25 March to 10 April 2023.
The third quarter begins on April 10, and the end, then, varies according to the level of education. For the 12th grade it ends on the 10th of June, for the 1st to 8th grades on the 23rd of June, for the 9th to 11th grades on the 23rd of June and for pre-school education on the 21st of July.
The order, which can be consulted in full here , establishes the rules regarding the functioning of educational and teaching activities, namely the beginning and end of the same, as well as the interruption periods for the 2022-2023 school year.
This order, says the ministry, also sets out the timetable for holding the final cycle tests, the national final exams, as well as the municipal tests, the internal general tests, the national general tests, the appeal tests for basic and secondary education. .
