Africa-Press – Cape verde. Cape Verdean boxer Wilson Semedo, an Olympic solidarity grantee for the 2024 Paris Olympics, won the international Boxing Spirit WBC tournament in Portugal.
Wilson Semedo had already won Saturday by KO in the semifinal, in the first round, the Spanish opponent, and on Sunday he scored another victory, due to the withdrawal of the Portuguese athlete with whom he would fight in the final.
To the Cape Verdean Olympic Committee (COC), the athlete, an Olympian for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, said he was happy with the result achieved in the competition and is already preparing for other competitions.
Wilson Semedo is together with athletes Jordin Andrade, boxers David Pina and Ivanusa “Nancy” Moreira, fencer Victor Alvares, gymnast Márcia Lopes, judokas Carolina Francês and Djamila Silva, swimmer Jayla Pina and Nicalas Fernandes, from taekwondo, one of the Cape Verdeans awarded the Olympic Solidarity Scholarship for the Paris ‘2024 Olympic Games.
