Africa-Press – Cape verde. Filomena Gonçalves and Janine Lélis are the members of the Government who will have their functions changed, with the departure of Arlindo do Rosário from the Ministry of Health. The information was confirmed today by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, who has already presented the proposals for the adjustments he will make to his Executive to the President of the Republic.
Filomena Gonçalves, who until now headed the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Affairs, becomes Minister of Health, while Janine Lélis, Minister of State, accumulates Defense and Territorial Cohesion with the Presidency of the Council.
The information was confirmed this Friday, in a statement from the Government of Cape Verde, according to which Arlindo do Rosário, current Minister of Health, will serve as Ambassador of Cape Verde to the People’s Republic of China.
The inauguration of the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Affairs and of the Minister of Health will take place on a date to be set by the President of the Republic.
Ambassadors vetoed by PR
As reported by the weekly A Nação, this Thursday, the President of the Republic also vetoed names such as Augusto Neves and Gualberto do Rosário for ambassadorships.
According to the same source, Augusto Neves would have been the first name chosen by Ulisses Correia e Silva to command the Embassy in China, while Gualberto do Rosário was suggested to replace Jorge Figueiredo in Luanda.
With the veto, says A Nação, the name of Orlanda Ferreira, former president of the INPS, who recently passed the retirement age limit, is in the pipeline. However, advances A Nação, this should also be vetoed, as it is a framework that has just been reformed, so the appointment would be “illegal”, in light of current legislation.
