The President of the National Assembly, Austelino Correia, hopes that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (AP-CPLP) will be able to assess in an “exhaustive and coherent way” the implementation of the Mobility Agreement between the Member States.
At the end of the two in days today and tomorrow ( Tuesday), the president of the Cape Verdean parliament expects a concrete guidelines and a deliberation emerged that encourages the community presidency to increase “some speed”, aiming at the implementation of the strategic agenda for the conciliation of economic cooperation in the CPLP. He makes this statement to Inforpress, in Lisbon, before the XI AP-CPLP, which takes place in the Assembly of the Republic of Portugal, in Lisbon, in São Bento.
“I wish that we make an exhaustive and coherent judgment of the state of implementation of the Mobility Agreement, taking into account the free movement of people, on the one hand, because it is also closely linked to the free movement of goods and services in CPLP, which is the central theme of our meeting”. He stated, considering that economic cooperation is a fundamental element for the free circulation of goods and services in that space.
For Austelino Correia, the Mobility Agreement and with regard to free movement between Cape Verde and Portugal, he is of the opinion that the two countries have made progress, although there are still some “obstacles”, such as the design of visas for students who wait months for the visa.
