Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, said this Thursday, in Lisbon, that expectations are “very good” in relation to the results that Cabo Verde can achieve by participating in the Web Summit.
Speaking to Inforpress, in Lisbon, Pedro Lopes, who leads the Cape Verdean delegation in the four-day event that started on Tuesday, said that this is the third time that Cape Verde has participated in the Web Summit, but this time the delegation is larger, with around 50 people, among the ten ‘startups’ and public and private companies.
“We came as a community, and that is why expectations are very good, we are well positioned, we have already received many visitors and this is just the beginning of a long week where we will project the image of a modern country, which, through technology and innovation, can contribute to the development of our country”, he stated.
Pedro Lopes wants the ten ‘startups’ to be successful, connecting with “the best”, to develop steps that allow them, when they return to Cape Verde, to have a capacity for a market coverage that is “truly global”.
