Africa-Press – Cape verde. The Municipality of Santa Catarina de Santiago celebrates this Sunday, the 13th, the day of sport with various activities. The initiatives also mark the 188th anniversary of the elevation of Santa Catarina to the category of municipality.
The activities start early, in Fundura, at 08:30, with the start of the endurance athletics event, with men and women on the route between the locality and the Pedestrian Zone of Assomada.
At Pedestrian, one hour later (9:30 am) the male and female athletes participate in the sprint athletics event.
The celebration of Cabo Verdean Sports Day moves to Chã de Tanque, where, at 16:00, where the final of the Intermunicipal Football Tournament of 11 takes place.
The commemoration of Cape Verdean Sports Day is part of the festivities that mark the 25th of November, the date on which 188 years have passed since the elevation of Santa Catarina to the dignity of a municipality.
