Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The Chairman of the Professional Association of Auditors and Accountants of Cape Verde (OPACC), Francisco Sebastia\u0303o Teixeira, highlighted this Saturday, the commitment of this Order, in raising “to the maximum” the knowledge of auditing and accounting professionals about the advances of the profession and \u201cwhat is expected for the future\u201d.<\/p>\n

Speaking to A Nac\u0327a\u0303o on the occasion of the OPACC annual conference held this Saturday at the University of Cape Verde (Uni-CV), in the city of Praia, Sebastia\u0303o Teixeira, reiterated the pertinence of the themes under debate in the three panels of the event because, among other aspects , professionals in the area will have the opportunity to clarify themselves on various issues.<\/p>\n

Thus, under the motto \u201cCurrent Challenges, Towards Consolidation\u201d, this, which is the third annual conference of the order, will debate at the Uni-CV Convention Center, the following topics: \u201cThe Importance of financial and non-financial reports from the perspective of management; \u201cThe Importance of creating and implementing the Financial Reporting Committee\u201d and \u201cDematerialisation and automation of tax obligations and accountability to the TCCV (Cape Verde Court of Auditors)\u201d.<\/p>\n

Contributions from national and international speakers<\/p>\n

The panels that have specific moments of debate will serve to raise the level of knowledge of certified auditors and accountants in Cape Verde through the contributions of national and international speakers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have a strong cooperation with the similar orders, namely, Portugal, Brazil, Angola, Mozambique and others who usually share their knowledge in the debate panels, in the annual conferences that we hold\u201d, underlined the President of the OPACC for whom the main challenges of the class It has to do with digital transformation.<\/p>\n

Financial Reporting Committee, a new entity<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are many other topics that could be discussed, but we believe that the ones we have chosen are the most urgent. For example, the Financial Reporting Committee is a new institution that is now coming into force and it is not yet clear to some professionals in the field how to intervene. Many do not understand the difference between the OPACC and this committee, the difference between them is that the OPACC regulates the profession and the committee is in charge of norms, supervision\u201d, argued Francisco Teixeira on one of the topics.<\/p>\n

Regarding the panel on financial and non-financial reporting, the president explained that \u201cfinancial reporting is usually what people say, the way we work with accounts, invoices, receipts and balance sheets\u201d while non-financial reporting \u201chas to do with environmental, social and technological issues and others that nowadays are increasingly on the agenda\u201d.<\/p>\n

Still on the same topic, Teixeira added that \u201ca company cannot be part of society and not respect, for example, the environment or use technology improperly. All of this is interconnected with non-financial reporting being a social responsibility\u201d.<\/p>\n

Automation and its challenges<\/p>\n

Regarding aspects related to the third theme of the annual conference, \u201cDematerialization and automation of tax obligations and accountability to the TCCV (Cape Verde Court of Accounts)\u201d, the President of the OPACC also highlighted the need for the class to be informed to keep up with the pace of change.<\/p>\n

\u201cRegarding Tax Reforms, nowadays we know that everything is automated. Automation, contrary to popular belief, also has its problems. Hence the need to go into detail on this issue to keep the class informed and so that everyone can keep up with the same pace\u201d, he warned.<\/p>\n

Digital transformation challenge<\/p>\n

The Chairman of the Professional Association of Auditors and Accountants of Cape Verde also warns of the challenges of digital transformation, namely in terms of filling the need for further clarification, not only for professionals in the field but also in other sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cRight now, the main challenges for auditing professionals and accountants have to do with digital transformation. Contrary to popular belief, digital transformation is not just computerization\u201d, stressed the Chairman, noting that, \u201cas this digital transformation is monitored, there are jobs that must be done continuously\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay the balance be positive\u201d<\/p>\n

With this, the third annual conference of the Professional Association of Auditors and Accountants of Cape Verde, this time in the city of Praia, Francisco Sebastia\u0303o Teixeira says he hopes that the balance will be positive.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope that each of the participants, whether those present or those who follow through the digital platform, can make the most of and improve their knowledge\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n

The event, which brought together, in person, hundreds of professionals in the field of auditing and accounting, was attended by the Secretary of State for Finance, Alcindo Mota, who, together with the chairman of the OPACC, Francisco Teixeira, presided over the opening.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that the second annual conference of the OPACC was held in 2019 and took place in Mindelo, Sa\u0303o Vicente, in the Uni-CV Auditorium \u201cOnsimo Silveira\u201d under the motto \u201cQuality Control in Accounting and Auditing.<\/p>\n
