Africa-Press – Cape verde. <\/strong><\/span>The new coordinator of the Municipal Political Commission (Comissa\u0303o Poli\u0301tica Concelhia \u2013 CPC) of the MpD in Tarrafal said this Saturday that the party will do everything to regain the mayoralty of that municipality in the interior of Santiago that lost in the last municipal elections to the PAICV .<\/p>\n

The new coordinator of the CPC of the Movement for Democracy (MpD, power) in Tarrafal, Ana Sousa e Silva, assumed this objective in declarations to Inforpress after being sworn in, together with Jose\u0301 Pedro Nunes Soares, for president of the Municipal Political Assembly (Assembleia Poli\u0301tica Concelhia \u2013 APC ). The ceremony was presided over by the leader of the party, Ulisses Correia e Silva.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur struggle and main objective is obviously to win back the Municipality of Tarrafal in the municipal elections in 2024. In life, not everything is easy, but we have the capital for that and we will do everything to win back the City Hall of Tarrafal\u201d, declared Ana Sousa and Silva.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just that, as she predicted, with a \u201cstrong and cohesive MpD\u201d and with \u201ca lot of struggle\u201d it is possible to regain that municipality, where the party was in power for 28 years.<\/p>\n

The teacher and MpD activist since the 90s, who succeeded Jose\u0301 Soares in office, also chose as the \u201cbiggest challenge\u201d of the mandate the strengthening of grassroots militants, the creation of groups of grassroots coordinators in all locations and training for militants.<\/p>\n
